Engineering metabolism for energy, chemical, and pharmaceutical production

The laboratory for Metabolic Engineering and Biomanufacturing focusses on engineering microbial systems that have the potential to revolutionize energy, chemical & pharmaceutical production, environmental remediation, and agricultural systems.
Current projects include the bioconversion of C1 feedstocks, synthesis of polyketides and isoprenoids, nitrogen fixation and ammonia production, and bio-upcycling of plastic waste.
